Support for Emerging Nonprofits
Fiscal Sponsorship
Your mission. Our Admin.
Imagine focusing solely on the impact you want to create while a trusted partner handles the administrative, financial, and compliance work—tax‑exempt receipt of donations, payroll, reporting, and more.
Fiscal sponsorship through our parent organization, Social Good Fund, is a formal arrangement that lets a project without its own nonprofit status operate under the umbrella of an established 501(c)(3). As a sponsored project you can apply for grants and receive tax‑deductible donations under the sponsor’s exempt status, freeing you to devote more time and bandwidth to the work that matters most.
What Is Fiscal Sponsorship?
Fiscal sponsorship allows you to share 501(c)(3) status with an existing nonprofit, and leverage that status to your benefit — you will have all the privileges a standalone 501(c)(3) has.
Social Good Fund offers Model A and Model C fiscal sponsorship options.

How It Helps You
Increase the longevity and efficacy of your project with fiscal sponsorship by decreasing risk and overhead. Not only can you use our 501(c)(3) status to seek funding and accept tax-free donations, but you can also use our existing administrative infrastructure (including HR), our insurance and legal infrastructure, and our financial infrastructure that allows you to access your organization’s funds on your own timeline – and with a bank specifically made for nonprofits.
How It Works
To be ready to apply for fiscal sponsorship with Social Good Fund, have ready:
- Your Mission Statement
- Your preference between A and C sponsorship models (more info here)
- A concise and specific description of the activites that your project will engage in to support your Mission.
- A general funding plan, including a projected 12-month revenue figure.
The cost related to fiscal sponsorship varies. Social Good Fund collects an administrative fee comprised of a flat amount, plus a percentage of the project’s annual budget.
In additon to enabling a project to recieve grants and tax-deductible donations, fiscal sponsorship with Social Good Fund also entials back-office support, human resources services, accounting and financial management, and access to coaching and consulting.
At any time, projects can choose to discontinue the relationship and take control of their assets. Many projects choose to attain their own 501(c)(3) after some time.

Learn About Fiscal Sponsorship
We offer two models of fiscal sponsorship. Read more about what they are and how they might support your project.
MODEL C FISCAL SPONSORSHIP:
Social Good Place offers Model C Fiscal Sponsorship in conjunction with our nonprofit incubation services.
With model C fiscal sponsorship the project remains legally and financially separate from the fiscal sponsor, managing its own bank accounts and liabilities, while the sponsor provides tax-deductible funding through approved grants.
MODEL A FISCAL SPONSORSHIP:
Model A Fiscal Sponsorship is available by applying through our main organization, Social Good Fund.
With model A fiscal sponsorship the sponsor and project are the same legal entity — the project operates as a program of the sponsor. The sponsor holds all funds, manages finances, assumes legal liability, and provides back-office services (like HR and insurance).
Model C: Pre-Approved Grant/Re-Granting Relationship
